Police can now confirm the death of 58 year old Alexander Michael Doty of Indiana who died as a result of injuries received in a collision that took place at approximately 11:10pm on Wednesday in the area of Pitts Bay Road & Roxdene Lane in Pembroke.
It appears that Mr. Doty was walking along Pitts Bay Road when he was hit by a 27-year old man traveling on a motorcycle.
Update: Serious Collison in Pembroke - Police are still appealing for witnesses to a serious collision that took place on Wednesday in the Pitts Bay Road & Roxdene Lane Pembroke area. Details on this incident are sketchy at this point; however it appears that a 59 year old American male visitor was walking when he was hit by a motorcycle that was travelling along Pitts Bay Road. The man was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he is still listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit with serious head injuries.
Police responded to a report of a serious road traffic collision that took place at 11:35am on South Road in Smith's parish in the area of St. Mark's Church. It appears that a taxi and a 51 year old Paget man on a pedal cycle were traveling along South Road when they collided.
Serious Collision in Pembroke - Police and other first responders at approximately 11:10pm on Wednesday were dispatched to the area of Pitts Bay Road & Roxdene Lane, Pembroke to a report of a serious road traffic collision. At 2:30pm today (Wednesday afternoon) a female was riding her motorcycle west along Middle Road in Devonshire just east of Fort Hill when two black males riding a black cycle road alongside her and caused the female rider to fall from the bike. The suspects then took a substantial quantity of cash and her cycle. The victim received minor cuts and abrasions from this incident.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have seen two black males on a black cycle acting suspiciously in the area of Middle Road in Devonshire to please contact police on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800 8477.
Firearms Incident - At 11:30pm on Tuesday police responded to a report of a firearms incident that took place in the parking lot of John Smith's Bay in Smith's Parish. It appears that two males on a motorcycle entered the parking lot area and discharged a firearm, however no one was injured.
An extensive investigation involving the Department of Homeland Security and the Bermuda Police Service resulted in the arrest of two Bermudian men who were engaged in smuggling illegal drugs to Bermuda from the State of New Jersey, USA. This combined law enforcement effort enabled officers to identify and disrupt an organized crime network which prevented dangerous drugs from reaching our community.

Update: Reported Serious Collision in Sandys Parish - Around 11:50pm on Monday, July 30th police and first responders attended a reported serious single vehicle collision on Pender Road in Sandys parish. It now appears that the rider of a rental cycle traveling along Pender Road collided with a section of the bridge at the entrance to Dockyard. As a result the rider, a 29 year old Hamilton parish man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check the victim was in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
