Update: Serious Collison in Pembroke - Police are still appealing for witnesses to a serious collision that took place on Wednesday in the Pitts Bay Road & Roxdene Lane Pembroke area. Details on this incident are sketchy at this point; however it appears that a 59 year old American male visitor was walking when he was hit by a motorcycle that was travelling along Pitts Bay Road. The man was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he is still listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit with serious head injuries.

Police are asking for any witnesses to this collision, especially anyone who may have seen the victim (a white male balding, with light colored clothing approximately 5’8"-5’10" tall of solid/stocky build) walking along Pitts Bay Road between 10:45pm and 11:10pm, to please contact police on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.

A 27 year old man is still in police custody after being arrested for driving whilst impaired in connection to this matter.

Burglary

Police attended a burglary in progress at a residence on Church Dale Lane in Smith's parish. Upon seeing the police the culprit managed to get onto the roof of the residence; he then jumped off the roof and made good his escape. Despite an extensive search in the area police were unable to apprehend the suspect. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Cup Match Holiday Policing

Police maintained a very visible presence at Cup Match, Beach Fest, and other social events. There were several calls for service which needed police intervention and or attendance, however there were no major incidents to report.
