The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 29 year old Andrei Holling. Mr. Holling, a German national contract worker, sustained head injuries in a serious road traffic collision on South Road in Warwick around 3:20 this morning, and was pronounced dead by an on-call physician at the scene.
Around 1:45 this morning, Police attended a reported assault at the White Hill Club on Middle Road in Sandy’s parish. It appears that the victim, an 18 year old Warwick man, was at a function at the club with friends when he went to purchase drinks. As he did so, he was attacked by a young man with a machete. The suspect and victim are known to each other.
At 11:10pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a theft on Church Street in the City of Hamilton, outside the Marketplace. The victim, an 80 year old Devonshire woman, stated she was packing groceries into her vehicle when she was approached by a local vagrant who asked for spare change.
At 3:20 this morning Police officers monitoring CCTV observed an auxiliary cycle with two people on it acting in a suspicious manner in the City of Hamilton. Police on mobile patrol were alerted to this and located a cycle fitting the description at the junction of Court Street and Dundonald Street. The vehicle was followed and it was observed committing a number of traffic offences.
At 6:45pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Loyal Hill Pass, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:50am and 3:40pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole approximately $250 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Theft
Around 8:30 this morning, Police attended a serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Stadium Lane, involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling west on Middle Road behind a car which came to a sudden stop. This resulted in the auxiliary cycle colliding with the car.
At 12 noon on Monday, Police attended a reported theft from an unattended vehicle. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 6:15pm and 7pm on Saturday, April 16, 2005 an unknown culprit stole her handbag from the car which was parked at her Tankfield Hill, Paget residence. The handbag contained approximately $70 in cash and personal items.
At 3:50am on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Ten Pin Crescent. It appears that a car was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, colliding with a palm tree. The car sustained extensive front end damage as a result.
At 12:55am on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Crow Lane in Devonshire near the junction with Corkscrew Hill. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on Crow Lane when the rider, a 32 year old Southampton man, lost control and collided with several road dividers. As a result, the motorcycle was extensively damaged.
The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that the post mortem examinations of the two bodies found at Abbot's Cliff last Wednesday afternoon have been completed. Multiple points of identification have confirmed the bodies to be that of Jahmal and Jahmil Cooper. The family was notified of these findings.
