Theft

At 11:10pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a theft on Church Street in the City of Hamilton, outside the Marketplace. The victim, an 80 year old Devonshire woman, stated she was packing groceries into her vehicle when she was approached by a local vagrant who asked for spare change. The Devonshire woman gave the man some coins and in return, he helped put her last bag of groceries into the vehicle. As he took the grocery cart back, she realized that she had left a blue bank bag in the cart. However when she went to retrieve the cart, the bank bag and the vagrant were nowhere to be found. The suspect is described as a dark brown skinned male, approximately 5’6” tall with a short afro and facial hair, wearing a jean jacket. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Breaking & Entering

Around 5:55pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Middle Road, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 1pm and 2pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole $900 in cash, a crystal cross and other personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 4:10pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Poinciana Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8am and 3:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole $315 in cash and several items of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
