The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that the post mortem examinations of the two bodies found at Abbot's Cliff last Wednesday afternoon have been completed. Multiple points of identification have confirmed the bodies to be that of Jahmal and Jahmil Cooper. The family was notified of these findings. Death was attributed to multiple blunt traumas but further information will be withheld pending the completion of formal written reports and submission to the appropriate authority. The examination of the Cooper's medical records as well as further tests, including DNA tests, will be completed in the United States in the coming weeks and the detailed findings will be passed to the investigators at the Serious Crime Unit as well as the Coroner's Officer. The Service is very grateful for the professional assistance rendered in this investigation by Dr. Valerie Rao, a Medical Examiner from Missouri and Dr. James Byrd, a forensic entomologist from Florida.
The Bermuda Police Service also wishes to thank the residents of the Abbot's Cliff, Hamilton parish area for their patience and understanding of the inconvenience caused as a result of our increased Police presence and activity in that area. The scene at Abbot’s Cliff has now been officially released.
