Flight Diversion

At approximately 10:25am on Tuesday, August 12th first responders attended L.F. Wade International Airport regarding a flight diversion to Bermuda for medical reasons. American Airlines flight #1226 departed New York and bound for Antigua was diverted and landed safely in Bermuda.

First responders attended a report of a road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a taxi, that took place on Parsons Road, Pembroke near Deep Dale West at 11:28pm last night. It appears that the taxi was travelling west on Parsons Road and the cyclist was travelling east when the female rider lost control of the cycle and collided with the taxi. The female on the cycle is currently in ICU with leg, internal and facial injuries. The taxi driver received cuts and abrasions to his leg and one of the passengers in the taxi received cuts to her leg.
Reported Serious Collision on Kindley Field Road Medical Update

The 51 year old man is currently still in the hospital with a host of serious injuries. The 44 year old woman is listed in serious condition with a number of serious injuries as well. The 19 year old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired.
An active investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident is now underway and police would like to speak with anyone who can assist in this investigation to please call 295-0011.
Reported Serious Collision on Kindley Field Road

First responders attended a report of a collision that took place on Saturday morning at 5:52am. It appears that a man was driving his car on Kindley Field Road, when he lost control of his vehicle and careened into two cars that were parked in front of a campsite and then crashed into a tent. This resulted in two people that were asleep in the tent (husband and wife, male 52 and woman 44) being taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatenig injuries.
Reported Serious Collision in Southampton

At 7:42pm police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Middle Road, Southampton near Granaway Heights Road, involving a motorcyle. The cyclist was travelling east on Middle Road when it appears that the rider lost control and struck the nearside stone wall. The cyclist, an 18 year old man was unconscious at the scene. He was taken to the hospital with what are being described as life threatening injuries.
Arrests Made for Various Offences

The Bermuda Police Service was highly visible both by land and sea yesterday with a high focus at Beach Fest where over 4,000 was estimated to be in attendance. Twelve persons were arrested for various offenses including possession of a controlled drug, invading on the privacy of a female, offensive words, affray, obstruction, and suspicion of wounding.
Members of the Public & Marine Police Assist Swimmer in Distress

Around 1:20pm on Monday, July 28th police officers including Marine Unit officers were dispatched to a reported male swimmer in distress in the waters of Bailey’s Bay, Hamilton parish.
On arrival it appears that the 31 year old Hamilton parish man involved was located along the shoreline of an islet conscious and breathing.

Over the weekend police officers arrested two people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.
Officers also arrested seven people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
Single Vehicle Collision on Harbour Road

Around 10:20pm on Thursday, July 24th first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Highwood Lane.
It appears that a car was being driven along Harbour Road when it collided with a wall.
