Robbery at St. David’s Variety - At 9:30pm on Wednesday, February 6th police officers responded to a reported robbery at St. David’s Variety. It appears that the store owner and a family member were inside the premises when a lone offender entered brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money. The offender then fled on foot with a quantity of cash. No one was injured.
An extensive search of the surrounding area was conducted; however the suspect was not located.
Reported Arson Under Investigation - Inquiries are underway into a reported arson after eight motorcycles were damaged by fire on Angle Street in Pembroke under suspicious circumstances earlier this morning. Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious individuals or activity in the Angle Street, Pembroke area around 6am Wednesday, February 6th to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 247-1744 at the earliest opportunity.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 47 year old Millard Bean of Smith’s parish. Around 11:30am on Tuesday, February 5th Mr. Bean was seriously injured in an industrial accident at Morgan’s Point in Sandys parish when a wooden structure fell on him.
Mr. Bean was treated at the scene by EMTs before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead by an on call doctor at 12:25pm. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to Mr. Bean’s family to assist them at this tragic time.
Fatal Industrial Accident - Around 11:30am on Tuesday, February 5th first responders attended a reported industrial accident at Morgan’s Point in Sandys parish. Upon police arrival it was ascertained that a 47 year old Smith’s parish man had been on site when a wooden structure fell on him.
The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Update: Fifth Road Fatality For 2013 - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 29 year old Jevanie Fubler of Devonshire. Mr. Fubler was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with barricades and ended up in an area undergoing roadwork along Frog Lane in Devonshire during the early morning hours of Saturday, February 2nd.
Mr. Fubler was pronounced dead at 7am Saturday by an on call doctor at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to Mr. Fubler’s family to assist them at this tragic time.
Around 6am on Saturday, February 2nd police and first responders attended a reported serious road traffic collision on Frog Lane in Devonshire. It appears that a 29 year old Devonshire man was riding a motorcycle along Frog Lane and collided into barricades in the area. The Devonshire man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.
Traffic was diverted away from the area while collision investigators examined the scene. No further information regarding the deceased will be given at this time until the next of kin has been notified. Inquiries into this fatal collision are ongoing.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 31 year old Jason Darrell. Mr. Darrell was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with another motorcycle and a car at the junction of Harbour Road and Salt Kettle Road in Paget around 5:10pm Saturday, January 26th.
Mr. Darrell was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital before ultimately succumbing to his injuries earlier this week.
Five Arrests Made In Connection With East End Burglaries - Five males have been arrested in connection with reported burglaries in the eastern parishes. The suspects, ranging in age from 15 years old to 21 years old, remain in police custody pending further inquiries.
In addition, suspected stolen property has been recovered and is in the process of being identified.
It is believed that these individuals were operating as an organised group targeting homes in the eastern end of the island.
The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that Mr. Christoph Duerr has surrendered at Somerset Police Station this evening.

Reported Serious Collision in Warwick - Around 8:30pm on Monday, January 28th police and first responders attended a reported serious two vehicle collision at the junction of Middle Road and Longford Road in Warwick.
It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along Middle Road and a taxi was being driven along the same road when the vehicles collided at the junction.
