Update: Fifth Road Fatality For 2013 - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 29 year old Jevanie Fubler of Devonshire. Mr. Fubler was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with barricades and ended up in an area undergoing roadwork along Frog Lane in Devonshire during the early morning hours of Saturday, February 2nd.

Mr. Fubler was pronounced dead at 7am Saturday by an on call doctor at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to Mr. Fubler’s family to assist them at this tragic time.

The investigation into this fatal collision is ongoing and witnesses, specifically anyone who may have been at the scene or travelled through the Frog Lane, Devonshire area between 1am and 6:15am Saturday morning, are encouraged to come forward.

In addition, anyone who was with Mr. Fubler immediately prior to this collision or knew his whereabouts Friday night (February 1st) should contact PC Roger Fox at the Roads Policing Unit directly on 247-1157.

The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Fubler.

The death of Jevanie Fubler marks the 5th road fatality for 2013.

Arrests Made After Flight Diversion

Around 10pm on Friday, February 1st a Sunwing aircraft traveling from Canada to the Dominican Republic landed at the L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda, after a reported incident involving a few passengers during flight.

The aircraft was met by police officers who liaised with the cabin crew. Three passengers, a 54 year old man, a 52 year old woman and a 22 year old man were subsequently arrested, processed and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The crew and remaining passengers were accommodated at Bermuda hotels overnight. The aircraft was scheduled to resume its journey on Saturday, February 2nd.
