Robbery at St. David’s Variety - At 9:30pm on Wednesday, February 6th police officers responded to a reported robbery at St. David’s Variety. It appears that the store owner and a family member were inside the premises when a lone offender entered brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money. The offender then fled on foot with a quantity of cash. No one was injured.
An extensive search of the surrounding area was conducted; however the suspect was not located. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the St. David’s Road area. In particular, investigators would like to speak with the driver of a car traveling through the area around the time the robbery occurred.

Reported Serious Collision in Paget
Around 2:35am on Thursday, February 7th police and first responders attended a reported serious single vehicle collision on South Road in Paget near the Bermuda College. It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along South Road when the rider, a 27 year old Devonshire man, collided with a pedestrian crossing light pole.
The Devonshire man was initially believed to be seriously injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. However, after being medically examined, his injuries were deemed to be less serious. He was later discharged.
The motorcycle was extensively damaged and the pedestrian crossing light pole dislodged. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
