Road Traffic Fatality - Police can confirm the death of Ryan Furbert of Happy Valley Lane in Pembroke who died as a result of a road traffic collision this morning.

It appears that around 2:15am Friday Ryan was travelling south on Frog Lane and Montpelier Road in Devonshire, when it appears he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and collided with the on side curb.  The 42 year old man was taken to KEMH where he was pronounced dead.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who can account for the last movements of Ryan Furbert to please contact PC Delphi Burrows on 295-0011.

Injury RTC - Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 8:22 this morning on South Road, Paget in the area of the Coral Beach Club. Circumstances are unclear but it appears that a 45 year old Southampton woman on a motorcycle collided with a trash truck resulting in the Southampton woman being pinned under her cycle. She was taken to KEMH where she was treated for minor injuries and released. As a result of this collision traffic was diverted to Cobbs Hill Road in Warwick.

Burglary - Police responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Greenwich Lane in Devonshire. It appears that the complainant left his residence secured yesterday around 12:45pm. However, another family member arrived home at 3:30pm only to notice that someone had gained entry into the home and made an untidy search of the premises.  Stolen from the house was a Playstation 3, a red Dell laptop with webcam and a grey keyboard, a black Dell laptop with webcam and grey keyboard, CD laptop, black, green and yellow knapsack with Jamaica on the front, a gold citizen watch and long gold flat rope chain.

Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Theft - On Monday at 7:30pm Police responded to a report of a theft from a car that was parked on Fort George Lane in St. George's. The complainant states that sometime between 6pm September 14th and 7pm on Monday October 12th someone broke the glass of her car and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the vehicle.

Police would like to advise the motoring public never to leave valuables e.g. cash in the car at anytime. Also, if one is going abroad for an extended period of time please leave their vehicle(s) in a safe environment and if possible have someone check on your vehicle from time to time to ensure that it is safe.

Taxi Jumps - At around 10:30 on Sunday morning a female taxi driver attended Hamilton Police Station to report that a man jumped out of her cab without paying. She also reported that same man stole her handbag from the cab.  It appears that at 9am the same day the female driver picked up a man from Spanish View Road in Smith's parish. He then was transported to Shelton Road, where the passenger stated he had to go to a house to pick someone up. Upon his return he asked the driver, to open up the back of the taxi because he had something to put in the back of the vehicle and whilst the driver got out of the cab the man made good his escape.

Vehicle Fire - Around 6:20am today (Friday), Police attended a reported vehicle fire on Boundary Crescent in Devonshire. Details are unclear; however, the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene and extinguished the blaze. The extent of the damage to the car is unknown at this time; however, there were no reported injuries. The vehicle was impounded by Police and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the main Police number, 295-0011.

Injury RTC - At 6:30pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Serpentine Road in Pembroke near the junction with Woodlands Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on Serpentine Road when the rider, a 42 year old Sandys parish man lost control, collided with the sidewalk and fell to the ground. The Sandys parish man sustained head injuries, abrasions to his left hand and suspected internal injuries. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and at last check was in the Intensive Care Unit. The motorcycle received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 37 year old Kino Outerbridge. Mr. Outerbridge, an inmate at Westgate Correctional Facility, was found in an unresponsive state around 10am Tuesday. He was rushed to KEMH via ambulance but was subsequently pronounced dead by an on call physician. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. An autopsy is anticipated in due course. The Bermuda Police Service extends sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

Police Week 2009 - Commissioner for a Day

The Bermuda Police Service welcomed the six winners of the Police Week 2009 poster competition to Police Headquarters in Prospect today for a day of Police related activities, giving them an idea of what it would be like to be Commissioner of Police for a day.
