Update: Collision in City of Hamilton - Around 3:30am on Sunday, May 27th, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the vicinity of Reid Street and Queen Street in the City of Hamilton. As a result, the rider a 19 year old Pembroke man was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance. He has since been treated and released.

Collision - Around 3:30am on Sunday, May 27th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision in the vicinity of Reid Street and Queen Street in the City of Hamilton. Details about the collision are unclear at this time; however a 19 year old Pembroke man was injured as a result. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Assault - Around 9pm on Thursday May 24th, police responded to a report of a disturbance along North Shore Road in Devonshire in the area of Lookout Lane. On arrival, it was ascertained that two individuals had been involved in an altercation. The victim, a 39 year old Devonshire man was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The suspect, a 43 year old Devonshire man, was subsequently located by officers and arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway.

Impaired Driver - Around 1am on Wednesday May 23rd, police were on mobile patrol along Middle Road in Devonshire when they noticed a car travelling erratically. They pursued the driver and stopped the vehicle near the junction with Orange Valley Road. Officers approached the driver, a 49 year old Devonshire man who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Witness Appeal: Rambling Lane Shooting

Around 10:23pm on Tuesday 22nd May 2012, police responded to a report of gunshots being fired and someone being shot and injured outside a residence on Rambling Lane, Pembroke. Police officers were immediately dispatched to the location to investigate the report. During the initial investigation, police ascertained that one person was seen fleeing from the area, description given as being approximately six feet tall with a slim build. A dark coloured motorcycle was also seen speeding away from the scene around that time.

Man Injured In Rambling Lane Shooting

Around 10:20pm on Tuesday, May 22nd police responded to reports of gunshots in the Rambling Lane, Pembroke area. As a result it was ascertained that a 51 year old man was shot and injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not considered life threatening at this time.

The scene has been cordoned off and a full investigation into this incident is underway. Detectives are appealing for any witnesses, particularly anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Rambling Lane area around the time of the shooting, or anyone with any information, to contact the main police number 295-0011.

Impaired Drivers - Around 2am on Sunday May 20th, police on mobile patrol along Pender Road in Sandys noticed a car that was travelling erratically. Officers pursued the vehicle and caused it to stop along Malabar Road near the junction with Heydon Road. They approached the driver, a 28 year old Sandys man, who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

May 20 - Weekend Report

Robbery - Around 12:45am on Saturday, May 19th police attended a reported robbery in the Benny’s Bay Road, Sandys parish area. It appears that two unknown men brandishing bladed articles accosted a 52 year old Sandys parish woman and a 23 year old Sandys parish man. The suspects took a wallet containing personal items as well as a BlackBerry cellular phone. No one was injured during the incident; however prior to fleeing on foot, the suspects also damaged the 52 year old woman’s car.

Collision - Around 10:50pm on Thursday May 17th, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on Somerset Road in Sandys near the junction with Scaur Lane involving a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was travelling along Somerset Road when it lost control and fell to the ground. The rider, a 37 year old Sandys man was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.
