Update: Collision in City of Hamilton - Around 3:30am on Sunday, May 27th, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the vicinity of Reid Street and Queen Street in the City of Hamilton. As a result, the rider a 19 year old Pembroke man was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance. He has since been treated and released.

Impaired Drivers

Around 11:20pm on Sunday May 27th, police officers were on mobile patrol along South Road in Paget when they observed a car travelling erratically. Officers caused the car to stop near the junction with Middle Road. Officers approached the driver, a 28 year old Warwick man, who appeared to be intoxicated.  He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Around 11:30pm on Friday May 25th, police officers were on mobile patrol along St. David’s Road in St. George’s when they noticed a motorcycle that was travelling erratically. Officers caused the motorcycle to stop near the junction with Stocks Road. Officers approached the rider, a 41 year old Warwick man, who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend, police officers arrested 14 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested six people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
