Assault - Around 9pm on Thursday May 24th, police responded to a report of a disturbance along North Shore Road in Devonshire in the area of Lookout Lane. On arrival, it was ascertained that two individuals had been involved in an altercation. The victim, a 39 year old Devonshire man was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The suspect, a 43 year old Devonshire man, was subsequently located by officers and arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway.

Impaired Drivers

Around 2am on Friday May 25th, police were on mobile patrol along The Lane in Paget when they noticed a car travelling erratically. Officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it near the North roundabout. They approached the driver, a 25 year old Pembroke man, who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Around 3:40am on Thursday May 24th, police were on mobile patrol along Middle Road in Devonshire when they noticed a car travelling erratically. Officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it on Middle Road near the junction with Fort Hill Road. They approached the driver, a 28 year old Devonshire man, who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Bermuda Day Police Activity

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their cooperation over the Bermuda Day holiday. During the holiday period there were no reported firearm incidents and no reports of significant antisocial behaviour. However, police officers arrested eight people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested four people on suspicion of impaired driving and responded to 14 loud noise complaints across the island.
