Burglary

At 12 noon on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Bayfield Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that it appears sometime overnight an unknown culprit gained entry into her residence. The culprit stole a handbag containing a quantity of cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Assault

Around 12:45pm on Thursday, Police received a report of an assault at the Westgate Correctional Facility in Sandy’s parish. It appears that a female Prison Officer was assaulted by an inmate with a pointed object. The victim was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of a puncture wound to her neck. The injury is not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway by the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit.
Suspicious Circumstances

Around 7:30am on Monday, Police attended a report of a car overboard in the Penhurst Park, Devonshire area. On arrival officers observed the car, a silver Opel Astra, submerged. The Marine Police Unit attended a short time later and confirmed that no one was trapped inside the vehicle. The car was subsequently removed from the water by crane.
