Around 2 this morning, Police received a report of a robbery on Cedar Avenue in Pembroke. It appears that around 1:40am the victim, a 40 year old Pembroke man, was walking along Cedar Avenue near the entrance to Victoria Park, when he was approached from behind by three men. One of the men held him around the neck and threatened him with a bladed article while the two other men searched the Pembroke mans pockets. The suspects removed a quantity of cash before making good their escape on foot, heading towards Masters Ltd. on Dundonald Street. The victim was not injured. The suspects are described as three young black men wearing dark coloured clothing. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
Injury RTC
Around 12 noon on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Burnt House Hill in Warwick near the junction with Paddock Lane. It appears that a rental cycle was traveling south on Burnt House Hill when the rider, a 66 year old American woman visiting the island, lost control and collided with a wall. The visitor sustained a broken rib & pelvis. The rental cycle was extensively damaged.
Burglary
At 9:15 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Cobbs Hill Road, Paget residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between midnight and 8:30am today, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home. The culprit stole an HP laptop computer and a white I-Pod. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
