Around 11:45am Tuesday, Police received a report of the sudden death of 78 year old Patrick James Mayers of Smith’s parish. It appears that sometime after 7am on Sunday, Mr. Mayers went for his usual pedal cycle ride around the Harrington Sound Road area. However, apparently around 8am he was discovered near the junction of South Road and Tuckers Town Road in a semi-conscious state by two passing motorists in a truck who stopped to assist. It appeared that the 78 year old Smith’s parish man had fallen off his pedal cycle.
At 6:35 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Cedar Hurst Place, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 10pm on Sunday and 5am on Monday, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and the complainants car, a green Mitsubishi Lancer, license plate #12947.
At 4:30pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Salt Kettle Lane, involving a car and a motorcycle.
At 10:55pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported vehicle fire on Happy Valley Road in Devonshire. On arrival officers observed the Bermuda Fire Service had the blaze under control. The two vehicles involved in the fire, a Honda motorcycle and a blue Kia Pride car, were extensively damaged. There were no reported injuries.
