Robbery - Around 3:20am today, Police on mobile patrol in the City of Hamilton received a report of a robbery on Front Street. It appears that around 3:10am the complainants, a 25 year old Paget man and a 24 year old UK woman, were sitting on a bench across from the Emporium Building when they were accosted by two unknown men, one brandishing a bladed article. The culprits took the female visitor’s handbag and made good their escape on foot before leaving the scene in a car. The complainants received minor injuries.

Marine Advisory - The Bermuda Police Service Marine Unit would like to remind the public as of April 1st all boats (including jet skis, punts and kayaks) should be re-registered with the Department of Marine and Port Services and the blue 2010 registration decals once issued should be displayed on the starboard (right) side of the vessel as close as possible to the registration numbers. Moorings also need to be re-registered and the blue 2010 mooring decals should also be fitted to the mooring buoy.

Update - Kimwandae Walker Murder Investigation

Shortly after 2pm on Good Friday (2nd April 2010) two men on a motorcycle rode onto Victor Scott School Field and targeted 35 year old Kimwandae Walker of Pembroke Parish, shooting him multiple times while he was in attendance at a Good Friday fun day. Good Friday was a clear sunny day and there was nothing obvious in place to obstruct the views of the 30, 40 or 50 persons present.

April 7 - Daily Report

Burglary - At 8:15am on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a South Road, Warwick residence. It appears that sometime between 11:15pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit(s) stole three flat screen TVs, a Nintendo Wii video game system and a quantity of loose change. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Victims of Recent Violence Condition Update - At last check, a 39 year old man was in stable condition on a general ward and a 17 year old girl was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit following the shooting at Western Stars Community Club around midnight Monday.

Also, regarding the incident at Royal Artillery Association (RAA) Club around 3:05am Sunday the victims, an 18 year old man and a 19 year old man, are both in stable condition on a general ward.

Confirmed Firearm Incident at Western Stars

Around midnight today (Monday) Police responded to a report of an incident that took place on St. John’s Road in Pembroke outside of Western Stars Community Club. It appears that gunmen rode a motorcycle west along St. John’s Road and fired indiscriminately in the direction of the club. As a result, a 16 year old girl and a 39 year old man were taken to KEMH with non life threatening injuries.

Fatal RTC - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 26 year old Carlton Darrell of Pembroke. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to Mr. Darrell’s family & friends.

Mr. Darrell was riding a motorcycle on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Belvedere Road around 10:35pm Friday when he lost control and collided with a wall. Mr. Darrell sustained serious head, neck and chest injuries and was rushed to KEMH via ambulance; however he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

Sudden Death

At 10:35pm on Friday, Police attended what appeared to be a serious single vehicle road traffic collision on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Belvedere Road. Details about the incident are unclear; however, it appears that the rider of a motorcycle, a 26 year old Pembroke man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Pembroke man sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to KEMH via ambulance; however he later died. No further information will be released until the next of kin has been notified.

Confirmed Firearm Incident at Victor Scott

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 35 year old Kimwandae Walker of Pembroke. Around 2:20 p.m. today, the Bermuda Police Service received a report of gunshots at Victor Scott Primary School. It appears that two men on a motorcycle rode on to the field and shot a 35 year old Pembroke man. The suspects made good their escape. The victim was rushed to KEMH via ambulance; however he succumbed to his injuries.
