August 3 - Weekly Review

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Burglary - At 2:35pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Tribe Road #3, Devonshire residence. It appears that sometime between Friday, July 16th and Sunday, August 1st an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while the complainant was overseas; however nothing was reported taken. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 8:55am on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at Smatt’s Cycle Livery in Southampton. It appears that sometime overnight an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises and stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Reported Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish

Around 7:40pm on Sunday, Police responded to a reported firearm incident in the Boaz Island, Sandys parish area. Officers attended the area; however at that time nothing was found to substantiate the report. Inquiries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital revealed that no one has been admitted with gunshot wounds. An investigation into the matter is underway. Any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the main Police number 295-0011 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

August 1 - Weekend Report

Missing Person Located - The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 28 year old Antonio Pacheco of Pembroke. Mr. Pacheco was located by officers at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess hotel safe and well on Saturday.

Burglary

Around 7:55am on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Cemetery Road, Pembroke premises. It appears that an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the building overnight.

July 30 - Daily Report

Missing Person - The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 28 year old Antonio Pacheco of Pembroke. Mr. Pacheco is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 6’ tall weighing around 190 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, white shorts and brown shoes, with two small earrings in each ear as well as a thin gold chain around his neck. Mr. Pacheco was last seen at The Bistro at The Beach on Front Street in the City of Hamilton around 3am Wednesday, July 28th 2010.

Injury RTC - Around 8:55pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Pomander Road in Paget near the junction with Harbour Road involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was parked on Pomander Road and the motorcycle was traveling along Pomander Road when the rider, a 25 year old Pembroke man, lost control and collided with the parked car. The Pembroke man sustained head & facial injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Man Arrested After Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish

The Bermuda Police Service is continuing its investigation into the shooting of a 44 year old man near Cambridge Road on Friday afternoon. The victim is listed as being in stable condition at the hospital. Acting Chief Inspector Calvin Smith of the Serious Crime Unit is leading a team of detectives in this investigation, and they currently have a 19 year old man in police custody in connection with the case.
