October 29 - Daily Report

Robbery - Around 1:30am on Friday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that the victim, a 25 year old Paget man, was walking along Gorham Road in Pembroke when he was accosted by two unknown men on a motorcycle. One of the suspects brandished a bladed article and demanded money before both suspects left the scene with the victim’s wallet containing personal items as well as a BlackBerry cellular phone. The Paget man was not injured. The suspects are described as two light brown skinned men, with the main suspect additionally described as 5’9” - 5’11” tall. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Policing for Halloween

Injury RTC - Around 9:10pm on Wednesday, Police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Crow Lane and Spurling Hill in Pembroke involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the pedestrian was crossing the road in the area and the motorcycle was traveling along Crow Lane when the collision occurred. The rider of the motorcycle, a 35 year old St. George’s man, received a minor injury to his leg. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The pedestrian, a 29 year old Devonshire man, was injured; however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Burglary - Around 8:55am on Monday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Cedar Avenue, Pembroke business. It appears that sometime between Friday, October 22nd and Monday, October 25th an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole a quantity of electronic equipment and Montblanc pens. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Reported Firearm Incidents in Pembroke

Around 1:15pm on Tuesday, Police responded to a reported firearm incident in the Overview Hill, Pembroke area. Officers attended the scene and conducted inquiries; however there were no reported injuries. An active investigation into this matter is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-8115 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

October 25 - Daily Report

Injury RTC - Around 5:10pm on Sunday, Police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the south round-a-bout involving a motorcycle and a truck. It appears that the vehicles were traveling along South Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 36 year old Devonshire man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the truck, a 37 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the truck apparently was not damaged.

October 24 - Weekend Report

Injury RTC - At 4:35am on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Devonshire near Lookout Lane involving two cars. It appears that a car was traveling along North Shore Road when it collided with a parked car. The driver of the car, a 27 year old Pembroke man, sustained a minor arm injury. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving; however he passed the alco-analyser test. The parked car was apparently unoccupied at the time. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

October 22 - Daily Report

Arrest - On Thursday afternoon, 21st October 2010, an arriving passenger on a commercial flight was arrested at L. F. Wade International Airport after what is believed to be a quantity of controlled drugs was discovered in the passenger’s hand luggage. The passenger is currently in Police custody. Investigations are being conducted by a joint H. M. Customs and Police team. A court appearance is anticipated early next week.
