Arrests - A 28 year old Sandys man was arrested at Somerset Cricket Club on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply at 11:20pm on Saturday April 2nd. After conducting a liquor license check, officers searched two men under the Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) and found a 28 year old man in possession of what appeared to be a rock like substance. He was conveyed to Somerset Police Station where he was detained.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving - Around 5am on Friday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Old Military Road in St. George’s near the junction with Barrack Hill. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Old Military Road when the rider, a 34 year old St. George’s man, collided with a concrete embankment. The St. George’s man was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The motorcycle received front end damage.
Around 8:25pm on Thursday, March 31st 2011 police responded to a report of a confirmed firearm incident that took place on Border Lane in Devonshire. On police arrival it was ascertained that a 22 year old Devonshire man was shot and subsequently succumbed to his injuries. No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.
Town Hall Meeting For Western Parish Residents - Members of the public living in the western parishes are invited to attend a Town Hall Meeting held by Western Commanding Officer, Acting Chief Inspector Mark Clarke and members of the Western Division at 7pm on Tuesday, 12th April 2011, at Port Royal Primary School located on Church Road in Southampton.
Officers will be addressing the western community on what the Service has accomplished during the past six months and the vision for the next six months as well as the objectives of the Western Community Action Team. There will also be an open discussion on concerns raised by the public.
Fraud Advisory - The Bermuda Police Service continues to remind members of the public about online scams and phishing e-mails as apparently some members of the public are still being deceived. The scam artists are becoming more sophisticated with their operations and the public must remain vigilant.
Industrial Accident - Around 2:15pm on Monday, Police responded to a reported industrial accident on Woodlands Road in Pembroke. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. It appears that the victim, a 67 year old Paget man, was working inside a container at a warehouse on the premises when he fell to the ground. As a result he sustained a head injury and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check the Paget man was in stable condition on a general ward.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Paul Wright - Three firearms incidents occurred in less than 15 hours in North Hamilton.
The first involved a report of gunshots occurring at 10:20pm Friday, March 25th 2011. A scene was located at the junction of Laffan Street & Cedar Avenue where a number of shell casings and a bullet head were recovered. There is no indication that any person was injured as a result.
Update: Serious Injury RTC - Around 2:15am on Monday, Police attended a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Cavendish Road and Lane Hill in Pembroke. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Lane Hill when the rider, a 33 year old Pembroke man, collided with the sidewalk at the junction. The Pembroke man sustained serious head and facial injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries while serious are not believed to be life threatening at this time. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
