Sudden Death/Fatal RTC - Police responded to a report of an incident that took place on Saturday May 7th 2011 at approximately 4:26pm on the property of the Rosewood Tucker’s Point Club. It appears that 73 year old Jean Stanley of Virginia was travelling as a passenger in a golf cart when she fell from the golf cart, sustaining head injuries. As a result Ms. Stanley was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance; however she subsequently succumbed to her injuries. A full investigation into this incident has commenced and the Bermuda Police Service extends our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased.

Injury RTC in Smith’s Parish - Around 12 noon on Friday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of South Road and Zuill’s Park Road in Smith’s parish involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling along South Road and the car was traveling along Zuill’s Park Road when they collided at the junction. The rider of the motorcycle, a 27 year old St. George’s man and the driver of the car, a 63 year old Southampton man were injured; however their injuries appeared to be relatively minor. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Injury RTC in Smith's Parish - At 11am on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Cameron Close involving a motorcycle and a car. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along North Shore Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 25 year old Pembroke man, sustained facial injuries; however he declined medical treatment from EMTs at the scene. The driver of the car, a 22 year old Sandys parish woman, was not injured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Man Arrested in Connection With Suspicious Death of Denise Evans-Wilkinson - On Tuesday 3rd May 2011, officers from the Serious Crime Unit arrested a 46 year old Pembroke man on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody while investigators continue to pursue various lines of inquiry, but he has not been formally charged with any offences.

Damage Only RTC on Harbour Road - At 10:10am on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Harbour Road in Warwick near the junction with Tamarind Vale. It appears that a jeep was traveling along Harbour Road when it overturned and collided with a wall. The vehicle and a section of the wall were extensively damaged; however the driver, a 53 year old Sandys parish woman, was not injured.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the identity of the female victim who was removed from the waters near Mills Creek, Pembroke on Friday 29th April 2011, as 45 year old Denise Evans-Wilkinson of Pembroke Parish.

Missing Person: Alfred Smith - The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 88 year old Alfred Smith (pictured). Mr. Smith was last seen at 10am on Sunday, May 1st 2011 at the bus stop outside the Warwick Bowl. It is believed that he intended to catch the bus to Somerset. Mr. Smith is described as 5’7” tall of dark complexion with light brown eyes wearing a beige hat, rainbow coloured striped shirt and brown pants. He is known to frequent the Cambridge Road, Sandys parish area.

Detective Superintendent Antoine Daniels - At 3:50am on Sunday morning, Police officers responded to a report of a man having been shot and injured near a residence on Overview Hill in Pembroke Parish.

Police responded immediately to this firearms report and on arrival at the scene discovered 22 year old Jason Smith of Warwick Parish who had sustained a number of what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his body. First aid was administered and he was conveyed to hospital by ambulance where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Assistant Commissioner of Police David Mirfield - Around 3:50am Sunday, May 1st 2011 Police and first responders attended a report of a confirmed firearm incident in the North Shore Road, Overview Hill Pembroke area. On arrival it was ascertained that a 22 year old man was shot. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he died as a result of his injuries. Officers from the Forensic Support Unit and the Serious Crime Unit are currently processing the scene. Detectives are also working closely with the victim’s family. Initial inquiries suggest that the victim may not have been the intended target.

April 29 - Daily Report

Sudden Death - Around 2pm on Friday, Police responded to a report of a body in the waters off the Mill Point Road, Pembroke area. The unidentified lifeless body of a black female wearing a medical bracelet for diabetes was recovered and a full investigation into this incident is underway. No further information will be released until the next of kin has been notified. Detectives are attempting to identify the deceased and appeal for anyone who may have a missing family member or friend or anyone with any information to contact the main police number 295-0011 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.
