Burglary - At approximately 1:40pm on Wednesday, Police responded to a report of a burglary at a Clarke’s Lane, Pembroke residence. It appears two men entered the residence, one carrying what appeared to be a firearm. The suspects stole several items including electronics, cash and jewelry and made good their escape by running away in a southerly direction. The home was occupied at the time of the incident; however the occupants were not injured. The two suspects were described as being approximately 6ft tall; one of medium build, one of large build, brown skinned and around 22 years old.
The Bermuda Police Service is continuing its investigations into a shooting which occurred on Court Street, Pembroke at about 11:28pm on Monday 4th July, 2011.
In this incident, a 26 year old female and 23 year old male - both from Devonshire, received injuries. The female victim’s injuries required surgery and she is recuperating in the Intensive Care Unit at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The male victim’s injuries were more superficial in nature.
Witness Appeal: Shooting on Court Street - Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the confirmed firearm incident that took place at 11:28pm on Monday on Court Street in Pembroke outside of Swinging Doors. At last check the 26 year old woman injured was listed in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The 23 year old man who received a superficial injury was treated at the hospital and later released.
At 5:20 pm on Friday 1st July police & ambulance staff responded to a 911 call from an elderly woman who reported that she needed medical assistance. Dispatchers ascertained that the woman was somewhere near 'Horizons' in Paget, but they could not determine her name or address before the call terminated. They were unable to re-contact the caller or trace the telephone number.
Police responded to a report of a confirmed firearm incident that took place at 11:28pm on Monday on Court Street in Pembroke outside of Swinging Doors.
It appears that men traveling on a motorcycle shot at a group of individuals congregated outside of Swinging Doors, resulting in a 26 year old woman being shot. She has been conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
At 2:25pm on Monday, police attended the Smiths Hill Drive, St. George’s area after a report of cannabis cultivation. Officers made a large seizure of what are believed to be cannabis plants from a wooded area as a result. No arrests were made at the scene. Inquiries into this matter are ongoing.
The Bermuda Police Service is warning the public about the recent increase in motorcycle thefts throughout the island, particularly of the Honda 125cc Scoopy.
Since May 2011, 45 bikes have been stolen. 30 of them were the Honda 125cc Scoopy. These bikes are being stolen from locations across the Island, but areas in Pembroke are being heavily targeted. These areas include Front Street, Happy Valley and areas surrounding the BIU building.
Woman Arrested After Handbag Snatch - Around 2:30am on Sunday, police responded to a reported robbery in the Woodbourne Avenue, Pembroke area. It appears that two women were walking in the area when they were accosted by a group of unknown individuals. One member of the unknown group snatched a handbag from one of the women, a 26 year old from Pembroke; however officers were quickly on the scene and arrested a 19 year old Pembroke woman in connection with the incident. The victim was not injured. The other members of the group, believed to be three or four men, made good their escape on foot.
Witness Appeal: Man Injured After Diving Incident - First responders attended an incident that took place at Admiralty House Park beach area at 5:37pm on Saturday. It appears that the victim, a 41 year old St. George's man, was jumping off the rocks into the water when he was knocked unconscious. He was pulled to the beach by family members. An off duty EMT and nurse began to perform CPR. They managed to get the 41 year old man breathing, however he remained unconscious and the pair continued CPR until the paramedics arrived.
First responders attended an incident at Admiralty House in Pembroke this evening. As a result, a 41 year old male was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, after an apparent diving incident. The 41 year old man's condition is unknown at this time.
