Woman Arrested After Handbag Snatch - Around 2:30am on Sunday, police responded to a reported robbery in the Woodbourne Avenue, Pembroke area. It appears that two women were walking in the area when they were accosted by a group of unknown individuals. One member of the unknown group snatched a handbag from one of the women, a 26 year old from Pembroke; however officers were quickly on the scene and arrested a 19 year old Pembroke woman in connection with the incident. The victim was not injured. The other members of the group, believed to be three or four men, made good their escape on foot.

Witness Appeal: Man Injured After Diving Incident - First responders attended an incident that took place at Admiralty House Park beach area at 5:37pm on Saturday. It appears that the victim, a 41 year old St. George's man, was jumping off the rocks into the water when he was knocked unconscious. He was pulled to the beach by family members. An off duty EMT and nurse began to perform CPR. They managed to get the 41 year old man breathing, however he remained unconscious and the pair continued CPR until the paramedics arrived.

Man Injured After Diving Incident

First responders attended an incident at Admiralty House in Pembroke this evening. As a result, a 41 year old male was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, after an apparent diving incident. The 41 year old man's condition is unknown at this time.

Injury RTC in Warwick - Around 6:50pm on Thursday, police received a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Ord Road and Cobbs Hill Road in Warwick. It appears that a grey motorcycle and an orange Yamaha auxiliary cycle or motorcycle was traveling along Ord Road when they collided at the junction. The rider of the grey motorcycle, a 50 year old Devonshire man, was injured and attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment; however his injuries are not considered serious. The grey motorcycle received moderate damage.

Tourist Collision Results in Minor Injuries - Around 2:15pm on Wednesday, police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with East Point Lane. It appears that seven rental cycles were traveling along North Shore Road in the vicinity of the Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo when a collision occurred between two of the rental cycles. The male rider and female pillion passenger of one of the rental cycles involved received minor injuries. Both are visitors to the island. There were no additional injuries reported.

Injury RTC in Warwick - Around 11:55pm on Tuesday, police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Keith Hall Road in Warwick. It appears that a silver auxiliary cycle was traveling along Middle Road and a blue auxiliary cycle or motorcycle was traveling along Keith Hall Road when the vehicles collided at the junction. The silver auxiliary cycle rider, a 48 year old Warwick man, was injured; however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The rider(s) of the blue auxiliary cycle / motorcycle apparently left the scene following the collision. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Arrest - Around 1:10am on Tuesday, police officers were conducting a check of Snorkel Park in Dockyard when they observed an individual reportedly involved in a previous altercation at the premises. That incident occurred around 2:35am Tuesday, June 7th and involved two male cruise ship employees and a group of local men. The 22 year old man was arrested and detained in connection with the matter. Three men have already appeared in Magistrates’ Court to face charges regarding the June 7th incident. A court appearance for the 22 year old man is anticipated in due course.

Marine Police Rescue Two From Sunken Boat

At 2:20pm on Monday, police received a 911 call regarding a sinking boat. Bermuda Radio was immediately alerted and sent out a message to all area vessels to assist. The Police Marine Unit was also immediately dispatched to the scene. It appears that a 44 year old man and a 42 year old woman were in the 13’ vessel fishing approximately a mile off the oil docks in St. George's when the boat began taking on water. The boaters donned life vests and were in contact with the 911 dispatcher until police vessel ‘Heron 2’ arrived, rescuing them from on top of the submerged vessel.

Firearm Recovered - The Bermuda Police Service can now report that officers seized a firearm during a search at a private residence in the Friswell’s Hill area of Pembroke on Friday afternoon, 24th June 2011. A 22 year old Pembroke man was arrested in connection with the firearm which is a hand gun. No further information can be released at this time while police continue their enquiries, starting with a forensic examination of the firearm to establish whether it is linked to any previous crimes.

Single Vehicle Collision in Devonshire - Around 9pm on Saturday, police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision on Tee Street in Devonshire near the junction with Berry Hill Road. It appears that a car was traveling along Tee Street when it collided with a wall and overturned. The driver of the vehicle, described as an approximately 6’ tall black male in his 20s wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, left the scene prior to the attending officers. The car was extensively damaged; however there was no damage to any private property and no reported injuries. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
