Around 9:40pm on Tuesday, January 13th police responded to reports of gunshots in the Heath Lane, Sandys parish area off Sound View Road.
Forensic evidence collected at the scene confirmed that a firearm had been discharged; however there have been no reported injuries at this time.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 59 year old Richard Thomas of Paget and extends condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Thomas was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car around 5:55pm Monday, January 12th on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Ord Road.

It appears that a motorcyclist, believed to be a 59 year old Paget man, was riding along Middle Road when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a car. He apparently succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was subsequently pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Around 5:55pm on Monday, January 12th first responders were dispatched to a report of a serious two vehicle collision involving a car and a motorcycle at the junction of Middle Road and Ord Road in Warwick.
Traffic diversions are currently in place at the junction of Middle Road and Longford Road as well as the junction of Middle Road and Keith Hall Road until further notice. Further updates to follow.
Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva - I am delighted to welcome Sergeant Chrispen Gumbs of the Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) to the ranks of the Bermuda Police Service – at least for the next two weeks.
Sergeant Gumbs has been seconded to the BPS to shadow the Public and Media Relations (PMR) Unit until 23rd January under the leadership of Mr. Dwayne Caines and his staff.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo issued an arrest warrant for 34 year old Kamal Worrell after he failed to appear in Magistrates’ Court this morning as required.
The defendant was subsequently located and taken into police custody. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Around 4am on Saturday, January 10th police officers were dispatched to a reported single vehicle damage only collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road.
It appears that a car was being driven along Middle Road in the general vicinity of Five Star Island when it went off the road and over an embankment.
The Central Community Action Team will be holding a ‘Meet Your CAT Officers’ – Police Community Outreach Clinic at 12 noon to 4pm today at the Empire Grocery on North Shore Road in Devonshire.
