Missing Person – Cavon Trott

The Bermuda Police Service is asking for the assistance of the public in locating 53 year old Cavon Lyn Trott, also known as ‘Animal’ or ‘Boogie’, of Hillview Road in Warwick. He is described as approximately 6’ 2” tall of medium build with short grey hair (salt & pepper). He was last seen in the Ord Road, Warwick area.

Weekend Activity - Over the weekend there were 8 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and no reported burglaries. There were also 7 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 6 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 5 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.

In addition there were 8 individuals arrested for drug related offences and 5 individuals arrested for robbery.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Serious Crime & Intelligence) Mr. David Mirfield & Detective Chief Inspector (Officer In Charge of the Serious Crime Unit) Mr. Nicholas Pedro - At 5:30am Saturday 27th November 2010, the Bermuda Police Service received reports of gunfire in the St. Monica’s Road area of Pembroke.

On arrival at the scene, two males were found on Mission Lane suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They were conveyed by ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where they underwent surgery.

Witness Appeal: Confirmed Firearm Incident in Pembroke - Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the confirmed firearm incident that occurred around 5:30am on Saturday in the St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke area. At last check the two victims, a 44 year old man and a 40 year old man, remain in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Around 5:30am on Saturday, Police responded to a confirmed firearm incident in the St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke area. Details about the incident are unclear at this time; however as a result two men, a 44 year old man and a 40 year old man, were injured. The victims were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Robbery - Around 7:40pm on Thursday, Police responded to a report of a robbery on Crawl Point Lane West in Hamilton parish near the junction with North Shore Road. It appears that the victim, a 34 year old Hamilton parish man, was riding a motorcycle along Crawl Point Lane West when he was accosted by a group of unknown men. The assailants then fled the scene on foot with one taking the victim’s motorcycle. The Hamilton parish man sustained minor injuries which did not require medical treatment.

Advisory - Advanced Fee Fraud Letters

Over the past several days the Financial Crime Unit has received hundreds of calls and e-mails from Bermuda residents who have all received identical ‘advanced fee fraud’ letters. 

The letter, allegedly from a ‘Charles Taylor (JNR).’ has been sent from Tanzania and is addressed to persons at their private address.

Vehicle Fire - Around 5:40pm on Wednesday, Police responded to a report of a vehicle fire on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish. It appears that a taxi was traveling along North Shore Road when the vehicle began to emit sparks and smoke. The driver, a 50 year old Sandys parish man, managed to escape uninjured. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was extensively damaged; however there are no suspicious circumstances. Traffic was diverted away from the area for approximately an hour.

Recent Incidents Resulting in Arrests

At 3.46 a.m. on Thursday 25th November, Police Officers on patrol on Palmetto Road, Devonshire came across a disturbance in the street. They saw a man standing over a woman who was laying in the street. The officers noted injuries to the woman’s face. The man was arrested for assaulting the woman, and when searched, he was found in possession of a significant quantity of cash which the woman alleged was stolen from her during a robbery. He was also found in possession of what is believed to be a significant quantity of illegal drugs. He remains in custody while further enquiries are conducted in the matter.
