Missing Person: John Iris - The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 49 year old John
Iris [pictured]. He was last seen on Monday March 5th, 2012 wearing blue jeans and a brown sweater and is known to frequent the City of Hamilton. Mr. Iris is described as brown-skinned, 6 feet tall and 170lbs. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 49 year old John Iris is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011.
The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old Santina Harvey and 15 year old
Ashley Mussenden. The teenagers were last seen on Friday, March 2nd.
Santina [pictured] is described as dark brown skinned of slim build, approximately 5’7” tall weighing around 115 pounds with reddish-brown long hair. She was last seen wearing a pair of jeans, a brown leather jacket and brown boots.
Collisions - Around 5:25am on Sunday March 4th, police responded to a single vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Newport Gardens. It appears that a car was travelling along Middle Road when it collided with a utility pole. The driver, a 36 year old Devonshire woman was injured and apparently treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Missing Person William Peniston Located - The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 58 year old William Peniston of St. George’s. Mr. Peniston has been located safe and well.
Robbery & Attempted Robbery
Around 2:45pm on Friday, March 2nd a reported robbery occurred in the Summit View Drive, Hamilton parish area. A quantity of cash was taken from a 21 year old Hamilton parish man, who was not injured.
The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 58 year old William Peniston of St. George’s.
Mr. Peniston, a taxi driver, is described as light skinned of medium build, 5’10” tall with black hair cut short. He was last seen on Thursday, March 1st driving taxi T1578, wearing a white dress shirt, grey pants and a dark green sweater vest.
At 4pm on Tuesday, February 28th a memorial service was held for Police Constable Sandy Rowe-Campbell at the Heritage
Worship Centre in Pembroke. Dignitaries in attendance included His Excellency the Governor Sir Richard Gozney, Premier the Hon. Paula Cox, Opposition Leader Senator Craig Cannonier and Deputy Opposition Leader Senator Michael Dunkley as well as the Comissioner of Police, representatives from the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and Bermuda Regiment.
Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva - The request by the Bermuda Police Service to His Excellency to be inspected by HMIC was made with the Bermuda public in mind. It provides an independent assessment of what we are doing well, what we need to do better and new ideas that we should consider with the local context in mind. It gives members of the public some insight to assess how effective and efficient we are being with our resources, and whether we have the right order of priorities.
About 12:55am on Wednesday 29th February 2012, police officers responded to a report of gunshots outside a private residence located on Mission Lane in Pembroke.
On arrival officers ascertained that a 23 year old male sustained a suspected gunshot wound and had been conveyed to the hospital in a private car.
Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit commenced investigations and enquiries have revealed that the victim briefly exited the residence where he, and possibly another male, were targeted by an unknown gunman.
Collision - Around 7:20am on Wednesday February 29th, police and first responders attended a reported collision on Dunscombe Road, Warwick near the junction with South Road between a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 10 year old Warwick boy was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver, a 50 year old Southampton man was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Any witnesses or anyone with any information should contact the main police number on 295-0011.
