As a result of ongoing Police investigations into illegal firearms on the island, shortly before 1pm on Friday 30th May 2008, armed Police officers arrested 2 men on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm. These investigations are being carried out by a joint team of officers headed by the Officer In Charge of the Serious Crime Unit, Chief Inspector Antoine Daniels. It is anticipated that both men, aged 28 and 27 of St. George’s and Pembroke parishes respectively will be appearing before the courts shortly.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 14 year old Rhiana Moore of Devonshire. Her lifeless body was discovered in the area of Blue Hole Park just off Dolphin Drive. Officers were dispatched to the scene and located the body, and a short time later death was certified by a physician.
At 4pm on Wednesday the complainant states that she left her place of business on Court Street secure only to return at 8:30am on Thursday to notice that someone had smashed the front glass to the store and helped themselves to a Chocolate cell phone valued at $350.
At 4:55pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Happy Valley Road and Deepdale Road West in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling south on Deepdale Road West and the motorcycle was traveling east on Happy Valley Road when the vehicles collided at the junction.
Around 4:45pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Knapton Hill in Smiths parish near the junction with Spanish Crescent. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling west on Knapton Hill when the rider, a 26 year old man, lost control attempting to negotiate a left hand bend. As a result the rider and cycle slid into the eastbound lane.
