January 20 - Daily Report

Burglary - At 2:50pm today, Police received a report of a burglary at a Lovers Lane, Paget residence. The complainant stated that sometime between Thursday, January 14th and 2:30pm Wednesday, January 20th an unknown culprit gained entry into a pool house on the property. The culprit stole a flat screen TV. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Injury RTC/Assault - Around 6:10pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Kindley Field Road in St. George’s. It appears that a van was traveling east on Kindley Field Road and a motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The driver of the van, a 55 year old Devonshire man, was assaulted by the rider and passenger of the motorcycle, a 21 year old Hamilton parish man and a 19 year old Hamilton parish man respectively. The van driver sustained injuries resulting from the assault and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

Injury RTC - Around 2:50am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Knapton Hill in Smith’s parish. It appears that a car was traveling east on Knapton Hill when the driver, a 24 year old St. George’s woman, lost control and collided with a wall. The St. George’s woman sustained injuries to her head, ribs, arms and left knee. It appears that she was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The car received extensive front end damage. The wall and an iron gate were also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary - At 6:50pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Kilderry Drive, Smith’s parish residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 2:30pm and 6pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Update – Perry Puckerin Murder Investigation

Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro - The Serious Crime Unit is actively pursuing leads in the investigation into the murder of Perry Mosley Puckerin Jr. A team of officers continues to actively pursue all leads, and three arrests have been made. Two persons have been bailed and one remains in Police custody at this time.

Damage Only RTC - At 1:55am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Longford Road in Warwick near the junction with Middle Road. It appears that a green jeep was traveling north on Longford Road when the driver lost control and collided with a wall, causing the vehicle to overturn. The damaged vehicle was unoccupied when Police arrived at the scene. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Attempted Robbery - Around 5:20am today, Police received a report of an attempted robbery at Grotto Bay Beach hotel in Hamilton parish. It appears that an unknown man brandishing a bladed article attempted to enter an office on the premises but was prevented from doing so by an employee who was working in the office at the time. The offender then made good his escape empty handed after being confronted by the hotel’s security officer. No one was injured. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’11” - 6’2” tall of slim build, wearing a white hooded jacket with a green pattern, dark coloured pants, white sneakers and dark sunglasses.

Witness Appeal - Pembroke Park Lane/St. John’s Road Shooting

The Serious Crime Unit is again appealing for witnesses to the shooting of a 21 year old Pembroke man on Sunday evening in the area of Pembroke Park Lane & St. John’s Road in Pembroke.

In particular, detectives are interested in speaking with anyone that may have observed the riders of a white motorcycle or scooter that was seen in the areas of East Park Lane, West Park, Pembroke Park, Pembroke Lane, St. John’s Road, and Western Stars Sports Club, that is believed to have been involved in this incident.
