Brothers Jailed After Brawl - Keino Lambert, 20 and Kevin Lambert, 21 both of Sandys parish appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 14th 2011 to stand trial regarding a disturbance that took place outside a North Shore Road, Devonshire nightclub during the early morning hours of Saturday, December 18th 2010 where a Taser and Captor spray had to be deployed by attending police officers.

Driving Whilst Impaired - At 12:25am on Sunday, Police were on mobile patrol on North Shore Road in Devonshire when they observed a motorcycle traveling west swerving in an erratic manner. The man was eventually stopped and officers observed the rider’s eyes to be glazed. He also appeared unsteady on his feet and his breath smelled of alcohol. As a result he was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was breath tested. The suspect failed the breath test and was subsequently detained.

Arrests Made in Colford Ferguson Murder Investigation

Detectives continue to make progress in the investigation of the murder of Mr. Colford Ferguson. We are interested in speaking with a man dressed in black or dark clothing that was standing in the bus lay by opposite the scene of the shooting. This person was seen to dive behind the wall when the shooting took place.

Detectives are also interested in speaking to persons that may have seen a group of persons riding three motorcycles at speed, east on Port Royal stretch near the fire station at about 2:10pm on Friday 4th February 2011. One of these cycles was believed to be orange in colour.

Theft of ‘Villa Monticello, Bermuda’ Painting

At 2pm on Tuesday, February 8th 2011 Police received a report of a theft from a Deepwood Drive, Pembroke residence. It appears that sometime between 10am and 12 noon that day, a painting was removed from the home. The painting is called ‘Villa Monticello, Bermuda’ by the artist Eleanor Abrams and measures 18 inches by 15 inches.

February 9 - Daily Report

Burglary - At 5:20pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Lynwood Drive, Hamilton parish residence. It appears that sometime between 8:10am and 5:10pm that day, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit(s) stole a quantity of cash, electronic items, jewelry and alcohol. Two suspects, a 36 year old Hamilton parish man and a 27 year old Sandys parish man, have been arrested in connection with this matter. Some of the stolen property was also recovered. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Burglary - At 7:35pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Church Street, Pembroke business. It appears that sometime earlier an unknown culprit gained entry into the shoe store and stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 10:35am on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Euclid Avenue, Pembroke residence. It appears that sometime between 7pm on Saturday and 6:15am on Sunday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Colford Ferguson Murder Investigation

February 6 - Weekend Report

Disturbance - Around 9:10pm on Saturday, Police responded to a reported disturbance at BAA on Woodlands Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers found there was no disturbance taking place. However, as a result of further inquiries at the scene, four men in their early 20s were detained. Of the four men initially detained, two were subsequently released without charge. The remaining individuals, a 20 year old St. George’s man and a 22 year old Warwick man, were arrested for using offensive words and outstanding warrants respectively.

Murder of Colford Ferguson

Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro, Officer In Charge of the Serious Crime Unit - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 29 year old Mr. Colford Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was a single man who lived in Warwick Parish, and leaves behind a four year old daughter to grieve his passing. The Bermuda Police Service is closely assisting Mr. Ferguson’s family to get through this difficult time. Our thoughts are with Mr. Ferguson’s family and friends.
