Around 1:20pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Harrington Sound Road, Smiths parish residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 11:30pm on Saturday, May 10 and 6:45am on Sunday, May 11 an unknown culprit gained entry into her home and removed two pairs of golf shoes and two golf bags. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 7:40am on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Hill Crescent, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:45am and 11:30pm on Friday, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a HP laptop computer and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

E-mails Circulating Regarding Alleged Inappropriate Interaction with Children

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of e-mails circulating around the island warning of an adult male allegedly interacting inappropriately with a group of school children. After the alleged incident, school officials strongly reminded all students not to interact with ‘strangers’ and informed all parents. On receiving word of this incident, Police officers contacted the school in question and a statement was later recorded from the Deputy Principal.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 46 year old Dennis ‘Dennie DeSilva of Warwick. Mr. DeSilva succumbed to injuries sustained in a serious single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred around 7:25am Wednesday on Middle Road, Southampton in the area of Jews Bay. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Around 7:25 this morning, Police received a report of a serious single vehicle road traffic collision on Middle Road in Southampton in the area of Jews Bay. It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling east on Middle Road when the rider, a 46 year old Warwick man, lost control and collided with a pole.

Incident Onboard Norwegian Dawn

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating an incident onboard the Norwegian Dawn cruise ship involving a female passenger, 46 year old Mindy Jordan, who went missing overboard in U.S. waters while the cruise ship was en route to Bermuda from New York City, U.S.A. The FBI is the lead investigative agency. As such, the Bermuda Police Service is providing support to the FBI. In addition, the Bermuda Government has pledged full cooperation and assistance to the U.S. authorities.

Recent media reports indicate that Police are looking for suspects regarding an armed robbery incident which is alleged to have occurred on Friday of last week.

I am here to inform you that this is not the case, in addition to giving some insight into what actually occurred and to make an appeal for the public’s assistance.

Around 2:30pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported robbery at Elroys Laundromat in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 45 year old Pembroke woman, who stated that around 2:10pm that day she was working at the premises when an unknown man entered and asked her to change a $10 note.
