On Monday 25th August 2008 the former Club Med hotel will be destroyed by implosion.
On Monday 18th August 2008, work will commence to rig the former Club Med hotel building with explosives. These explosives will be placed throughout the hotel building and sealed in place by a team from Demolition Dynamics, a subsidiary of DH Griffin Wrecking Co. Inc of the USA.
The explosives, once placed, will remain in the hotel throughout the week leading up to the planned implosion, scheduled for Monday 25th August 2008.
Police to Address Reports of Anti-Social Behaviour

The Bermuda Police Service has recently received reports of suspected firearm activity in the St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke area and increased violence involving young men associated with the ‘gang culture.’ In light of these reports, we wish to reassure the public that the Police are aware of these activities and that we will be responding appropriately. |
Attempted Robbery

Around 3:45 this morning, Police received a report of an attempted robbery on Freeport Drive in Sandy’s parish. The victim, a 38 year old Sandy’s parish man who is employed at an area establishment, stated that he left work around 2:30am and proceeded to walk home.
