Injury RTC-Around 9:35pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Ord Road in Warwick near the junction with Banana Lane. It appears that a car was traveling east on Ord Road when the driver, an 18 year old Warwick man, lost control and collided with a parked car. The Warwick man and his male front seat passenger sustained head contusions.

Around 9:35pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Ord Road in Warwick near the junction with Banana Lane. It appears that a car was traveling east on Ord Road when the driver, an 18 year old Warwick man, lost control and collided with a parked car. The Warwick man and his male front seat passenger sustained head contusions. The eastbound car received extensive front end damage while the parked car received extensive rear end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory Regarding Motorized Mini Bikes

The Bermuda Police Service is aware that motorized mini bikes are being used on the island’s roads, parks and on the railway trails particularly in the Khyber Pass and Ord Road, Warwick area and the Loyal Hill, Devonshire area. These vehicles are often ridden by young children; however these bikes are not licensed or insured.

Attempted Burglary-Around 11pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of an attempted burglary at a Warwick guest property. It appears that an unknown man, brandishing a weapon and demanding money, attempted to gain entry into a cottage on the premises. However the male occupant of the accommodation shouted for help and the suspect made good his escape empty handed.

Around 11pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of an attempted burglary at a Warwick guest property. It appears that an unknown man, brandishing a weapon and demanding money, attempted to gain entry into a cottage on the premises. However the male occupant of the accommodation shouted for help and the suspect made good his escape empty handed. The victims, a 48 year old Canadian man and his wife, a 50 year old Canadian woman who are visiting the island, were not injured. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-4315 or the confidential Crime Stoppers Hotline on 1-800-623-8477.

Burglary- At 12 noon on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Cottage Hill Lane, Hamilton parish residence. It appears that an unknown man brandishing a weapon attended the home, forced his way inside and accosted the two female occupants, a 35 year old Hamilton parish woman and her friend. The suspect then made good his escape. The victims were not injured. A 42 year old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and inquiries are ongoing.

It appears that an unknown man brandishing a weapon attended the home, forced his way inside and accosted the two female occupants, a 35 year old Hamilton parish woman and her friend. The suspect then made good his escape. The victims were not injured. A 42 year old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and inquiries are ongoing. Road Policing Unit Statistics-The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to use care, caution and courtesy on the island's roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and those traveling on motorcycles to fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7pm on Thursday and 4pm on Sunday, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while she was overseas. The culprit stole a white gold chain. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 7:25am on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at the Boaz Island Shell Marine & Service Station in Sandy’s parish. The complainant stated that sometime between 7pm on Saturday and 7am on Sunday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
