At 4:05pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Camp Hill involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the victim, a 10 year old Southampton girl and her brother were walking across the pedestrian crossing opposite Heron Bay Marketplace, as traffic in both directions had stopped to allow them to cross the road. The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old Warwick man, was traveling east on Middle Road, overtook the eastbound line of traffic and collided with the 10 year old girl. The victim sustained bruising to her right foot and abdomen while her brother was apparently not injured. The motorcyclist was not injured; however his cycle received minor front end damage.
The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to use care, caution and courtesy on the island's roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and those traveling on motorcycles to fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Damage Only RTC-At 5:50am on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Aldie Drive. It appears that a car was traveling west on Middle Road when the driver, a 19 year old Devonshire man, lost control and collided with a tree. The Devonshire man complained of minor chest pain. The car received extensive front end damage.

Vehicle Fire- Around 3:25am on Sunday, Police received a report of vehicles on fire on St. Monica’s Road in Pembroke. Police officers and members of the Bermuda Fire Service (BFS) attended the scene where a car and a motorcycle were ablaze. The fires were extinguished by BFS personnel. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. An investigation into the cause of the fires is underway.

Injury RTC-Around 7pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of South Road and Brighton Hill Road in Devonshire. It appears that a car was traveling south on Brighton Hill Road when the driver, a 71 year old Devonshire man, lost control due to a pre-existing medical condition.

As a result the car went through the intersection and collided with a utility pole on the opposite side of South Road. The 71 year old man sustained cuts & abrasions to both knees and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
