Update - Maxwell Brangman/Frederick Gilbert Murder Investigation

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank all those persons who have thus far come forward and assisted with the investigation into the murders of Maxwell Brangman and Frederick Gilbert, which occurred sometime during Saturday night/Sunday morning 21st-22nd September 2008. About 6pm on Saturday 27th September 2008, two men were arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in Police custody.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm that the deaths of 57 year old Maxwell Gordon Brangman and 53 year old Frederick Livingstone Gilbert, both residents of St. David’s, were not caused by fire or drowning.

E-mail Warning of Drug Targeting Children

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of an e-mail which is currently circulating on island warning of a drug being distributed which is targeted at children. The drug is said to resemble a popular type of children’s candy and come in various flavours. The e-mail also states that if this drug is taken, serious illness or death may result.
