Around 7pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Cottage Hill Road involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that both vehicles were traveling east on North Shore Road with the car in front of the auxiliary cycle when the car came to a stop. The rider of the cycle, a 17 year old Hamilton parish man, was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the car.

Incorrect Information in January 7th 2009 Bermuda Sun Re: Speed Cameras

In today’s Bermuda Sun (January 7th, 2009) there was a very detailed article as it relates to speed cameras in Bermuda. Firstly, the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) would like to make it abundantly clear that the clandestine Police source that was quoted in the Bermuda Sun does not speak on behalf of the organization and the details are not an accurate depiction of the issues surrounding the adoption of speed cameras on the island.

Sudden Death

Around 4:20pm today, Police received a report of a sudden death. On arrival officers observed the body of a man lying outside a Pitts Bay Road, Pembroke premises in an unresponsive state. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician. Inquiries are ongoing. Foul play has not been ruled out. No further information will be released until the next of kin has been notified.

Flight Diversion

At 4:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a flight diversion to Bermuda due to the alleged unruly behaviour of several passengers. The First Choice Airways flight was en route from Manchester, UK to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with 256 passengers onboard at the time.
