Missing Juvenile

The Bermuda Police Service is asking for the public's assistance in locating 14 year old Geisha Saltus of Devonshire. She was reported missing at 10am today and was last seen leaving Cedarbridge Academy around 3:30pm on Monday wearing casual clothes. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 14 year old Geisha Saltus is asked to contact the Juvenile & Domestic Crime Unit on 295-0011.

Witness Appeal

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a disturbance that took place around 5:30pm Saturday, October 15, 2005 on Court Street near the junction with Angle Street in Pembroke. The victim, a 33 year old Paget man, was attacked with a machete and sustained serious lacerations to his hands, forearms and head.

Arrest

At 12:35pm today, Police attended a WB's Way, Hamilton parish residence and arrested a 37 year old Pembroke man wanted in connection with a disturbance that occurred around 5:30pm Saturday on Court Street near the junction with Angle Street in Pembroke. The Pembroke man was taken into custody without incident and is expected to appear before the courts in due course.

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of an increased amount of forged BDA $100 notes in circulation on the island.

New Police Boat

The Bermuda Police Service has just signed a contract for the purchase of a new Police vessel, designed to head up the Marine Police fleet and replace our current ‘Blue Heron’.

This is not a recent initiative, but has been the subject of many hours of research and discussion to establish a vessel to fulfill certain roles within the Police maritime area of responsibility.

Hurricane Katrina Relief Scams

Unfortunately, after many disasters there are efforts to try and steal money that was given to assist with the recovery. The Fraud Unit is aware of reports from overseas that indicate a number of bogus websites are being set up, with the aim of soliciting donations to assist with the disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina in the U.S.A. These websites are fraudulent.

Injury RTC

Around 1:50pm today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Devonshire in the area of Chaingate Hill. It appears that a 12 year old Warwick boy was riding a bicycle on the premises of a day care when he lost control and collided with a car traveling west on Middle Road.
