Community Action Teams to Host Community Clinics

The Bermuda Police Service Central Community Action Team invites residents of the central parishes (Devonshire, Paget and Pembroke) to get to know their Community Action Team (CAT) officers at three upcoming community clinics promoting police interacting with area residents to make a difference in their communities.

Saturday, November 9th – Evangelical Church parking lot, #1 Mission Road, Paget (next to Modern Mart) from 2pm to 5pm.

Traffic Advisory: Convening of Parliament

The motoring public is advised of the following temporary road closures and no parking areas to facilitate the Convening of Parliament on Friday, November 8th 2013.

Road Closures from 10:15am until the event has concluded (approximately 12:30pm):

Front Street - between Parliament Street and King Street (access will be allowed to Number 8 car park and Hamilton docks only).

Investigations Ongoing Into Recent Reported Burglaries

Since October 1st 2013, police have received a number of reports of burglaries having occurred in Sandys, Southampton, Warwick, Paget and Pembroke parishes.

Investigations are continuing into these matters and detectives believe that many of these burglaries are linked. The identified areas are:

Ongoing Witness Appeal: Reported Armed Robbery in Southampton

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the reported armed robbery that occurred around 8:40pm Monday, November 4th at Raynor's Gas Station on Middle Road in Southampton where three unknown men gained entry into the premises.

One of the men brandished what appeared to be a firearm while the other two men apparently brandished bladed articles. The three offenders were described as wearing dark coloured clothing and motorcycle helmets.

Reported Armed Robbery at Southampton Gas Station

Around 8:40pm on Monday, November 4th police officers responded to a reported armed robbery at Raynor's Gas Station on Middle Road in Southampton. It appears that three armed men gained entry into the establishment and made demands of money. The suspects left after brandishing what is believed to be a firearm and made good their escape in the area.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend, police officers arrested six people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.

Officers also arrested five people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.

Coltrane Ratteray in Custody

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating Mr. Coltrane Ratteray. Mr. Ratteray turned himself in to Hamilton Police Station Sunday morning, November 3rd. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Eighth Road Fatality For 2013

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 52 year old Donald Pimentel.

Mr. Pimentel, an American contract worker, sustained serious injuries when the rental cycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a motorcycle at the junction of Harbour Road and Morgan Road in Warwick around 5:30pm Friday, October 11th.

He was subsequently airlifted overseas for further medical treatment and later succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, October 17th.

Police Thank Public for Cooperation During Halloween

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their cooperation during Halloween. Despite reported egg throwing incidents which were minor in nature on Thursday, October 31st there were no significant occurrences of anti-social behaviour reported during the day or overnight.

Similarly, those attending Halloween related events this weekend are encouraged to enjoy the festivities responsibly.

Police Actively Seeking Coltrane Ratteray [Arrested]

The Bermuda Police Service is actively seeking to arrest Mr. Coltrane Ratteray. Mr. Ratteray failed to appear before the courts on Thursday 31st October 2013 on an outstanding matter, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest by a Magistrate.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Ratteray, or seeing him, is urged to make contact with the police on 295-0011. We would like to assure the public that Mr. Ratteray is not an immediate danger to anyone, but the assistance of the public in apprehending Mr. Ratteray would be greatly appreciated.
