Eleventh Road Fatality for 2017: Kerry Petty

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 38 year old Kerry Petty and extends sincere condolences to her family and friends.
Ms. Petty was seriously injured when the motorcycle she was riding was involved in a collision with a car on Middle Road, Southampton in the area of Five Star Island around 5:48am this morning (September 28th).
She was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance but sadly, later pronounced dead.

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision between a car and motorcycle that took place on Middle Road, Southampton in the area of Five Star Island around 5:48am this morning (September 28th).
The motorcyclist involved, believed to be a 38 year Southampton woman, was seriously hurt and rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance – but later succumbed to her injuries.

At last check earlier this morning (September 25th) the 25 year old male motorcyclist from Smith’s parish injured in a collision with an unmarked police car around 2:30pm Tuesday, September 19th at the junction of North Shore Road and My Lord’s Bay Road, Hamilton parish was in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Witnesses have already come forward regarding this matter and their cooperation is greatly appreciated.

At last check earlier this morning (September 21st) the 25 year old male motorcyclist from Smith’s parish injured in a collision with an unmarked police car around 2:30pm Tuesday, September 19th at the junction of North Shore Road and My Lord’s Bay Road, Hamilton parish remained in critical but stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
The investigation into this matter continues, with an appeal for any witnesses that have not already come forward to do so at the earliest opportunity.
Motorcyclist in ICU: Tuesday Afternoon Hamilton Parish Collision

A full investigation is underway into the serious collision that occurred around 2:30pm Tuesday at the junction of North Shore Road and My Lord’s Bay Road in Hamilton parish, involving an unmarked police car and a motorcycle.
Both vehicles have been impounded and CCTV footage of the incident is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
At last check earlier this morning (September 20th) the injured motorcyclist, a 25 year old Smith’s parish man, was listed in critical but stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Reported Serious Collision in Hamilton Parish [Updated]

Around 2:30pm today (Tuesday, September 19th) police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious collision at the junction of North Shore Road and My Lord’s Bay Road in Hamilton parish involving an unmarked police car and a motorcycle.
Initial information suggests that both the car driver and motorcyclist were injured.
The motorcyclist is believed to be more seriously injured and a condition update on the individuals involved will be provided in due course.
Photo of Guns & Ammunition in Engine Block Not From Bermuda

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of a photo circulating on social media that shows an engine block containing a quantity of guns and ammunition.
Apparently it has been suggested that this contraband was discovered in Bermuda.
However, an online image search indicates that the photo is actually from Barbados, after authorities there reportedly seized the items at a Barbados port.
Advisory: Counterfeit U.S. $50 Currency

Residents are advised to be vigilant regarding counterfeit U.S. $50 notes bearing serial number MD36441997A.
One of these counterfeit notes was apparently tendered at the RUBiS Causeway Service Station Tuesday evening. A 54 year old Devonshire man has been arrested in connection with that matter and enquiries continue.
Employees are once again advised that if counterfeit cash is detected during a transaction, the member of staff receiving the fake money should hold on to it, note the description of the individual who tendered it and contact police immediately.
Investigation Continues: Spirit of Bermuda & Resolute Collision

It now appears that two persons, believed to be an 18 year old Pembroke woman and a 25 year old Pembroke man, sustained non-life threatening injuries when the sailing vessel ‘Spirit of Bermuda’ and the Government ferry ‘Resolute’ collided in waters near Dockyard Friday night.
In addition to both vessels being damaged, apparently three motorcycles on the ferry at the time were also damaged.
