Around 10pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Khyber Pass in Warwick. It appears that a silver motorcycle was traveling south on Khyber Pass when it was in collision with an unknown vehicle which did not stop. As a result the rider of the motorcycle, a 57 year old Warwick man, sustained facial injuries and a broken leg. He was taken to KEMH for treatment and is currently in stable condition on a general ward; his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact PC Christine Mullings on 234-1010.
Breaking & Entering
At 3:15pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Sanz Crescent, Paget residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that she was at home around 3pm that day when she found a man in her kitchen. When asked by the complainant what he was doing there, the man claimed he was looking for someone. She then informed him he had the wrong house and told him to get out, which he did. A short time later the suspect, a 41 year old Devonshire man, was arrested in the Harvey Road, Paget area. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Weekend Activity
Over the weekend there were 5 people arrested for suspicion of impaired driving and 15 incidents of breaking and entering. There were also 23 damage only road traffic collisions and 7 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
The Bermuda Police Service is noticing an increase in the amount of road traffic collisions taking place on the island’s roads. We are urging the motoring public to obey the speed limit and to use care, caution and courtesy at all times.
