Disturbance

At 9pm on Thursday, an off duty Police officer was at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) on Queen Street in the City of Hamilton when he observed a group of young men gathered on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. As the off duty officer watched, two of the young men began to fight one another and at one point during the scuffle both men entered KFC. The off duty Police officer approached the two combatants and identified himself as a Police officer. He was then able to detain one of the individuals involved, a 20 year old Warwick man. The other individual was able to make good his escape. The Warwick man was subsequently arrested, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. He is anticipated to appear in court in due course.

Theft

At 11am on Thursday, Police received a report of a theft from St. Paul’s Centennial Hall at the junction of Court Street and Victoria Street in Pembroke. The complainant stated that sometime between 3pm on Sunday, September 4 and 2pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 an unknown culprit stole a black Denon CD player from the premises. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
