Fatal RTC

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 24 year old Annette Farkas. Ms. Farkas, a Canadian national, sustained serious head injuries in a road traffic collision on North Street in Pembroke around 9:20pm on Monday involving a motorcycle and an auxiliary cycle. She was rushed to KEMH via ambulance where she was treated in the Intensive Care Unit; however, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead around 4:20am on Tuesday. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.

The death of Ms. Farkas marks the 9th road traffic fatality for 2005.

Injury RTC

Around 12:05 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of South Road and Rocklands Road in Warwick involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on South Road when the driver made a right turn, crossing the path of the motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction, causing a collision. The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old Warwick man, was treated at KEMH for lacerations to both legs and his left arm and released. The driver of the car, a 26 year old Devonshire woman, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Breaking & Entering

Around 5:30pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Hill Crescent, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 12:30pm and 4:10pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home. The culprit stole $800 in cash and several items of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
