Injury RTC

At 11:40pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Trimingham Hill in Paget involving an auxiliary cycle and a motorcycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling west behind a car when the rider overtook the vehicle in front, colliding head on with the motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 17 year old Sandy's parish boy sustained facial injuries and the rider of the motorcycle, a 35 year old Pembroke man, sustained cuts and abrasions to his face and body. Both were taken to KEMH, treated for their injuries and later released. Trimingham Hill was closed off to traffic for approximately 2 hours following the incident.

Assault on Police

At 1:35am on Saturday, Police on mobile patrol at the junction of Texas Road and St. David's Road in St. George's observed a man riding a motorcycle in an erratic manner. The officers attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the rider managed to elude Police. A short time later the motorcycle was located traveling west on St. David's Road. The officers stopped the cycle and checked the identity of the rider, who became uncooperative. As the officers attempted to arrest the rider, a 41 year old Devonshire man on suspicion of impaired driving, a struggle ensued. At one point during the struggle, one of the officers and the the Devonshire man fell to the ground. He was eventually restrained, taken to the Hamilton Police Station and detained. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
