Assault

Around 4:15 this morning, Police attended a reported assault outside of Champions on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that a fight took place between a few men outside the club, and it is believed a bladed weapon was used in the attack. As a result two men were injured and taken to KEMH via ambulance. The two suspects, a 26 year old Pembroke man and a 24 year old Pembroke man, made good their escape on a silver scooter towards King Street. The victims, a 26 year old Paget man (facial injuries) and a 23 year old Pembroke man (laceration to the back of the head) were treated at the hospital and both remain on a general ward. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact DC Swainson on 295-0011.

Robbery

At 2:25pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a robbery on Brunswick Street in Pembroke. The victim, a 44 year old Smith's parish man, stated that around 7:30pm on Friday he was walking towards Cedar Avenue when a man whom he is familiar with asked him for a cigarette. As he gave the acquaintance a cigarette, another man punched him in the back of the head. Both men then dragged the victim behind a parked car, where he was punched in the head twice more by the unknown man. The assailants stole $450 in cash and a gold ring before fleeing the area on foot. The suspects are described as a light skinned male, approximately 5'9" tall of slim build with side burns, a moustache and beard; and a dark brown skinned male, approximately 5'9" tall with a close haircut, clean shaven, wearing khaki pants and top. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 6:30 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Longford Road, involving a car and a pedestrian. Details about the collision remain unclear; however, the male victim was taken to KEMH for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. He is currently on a general ward at the hospital. Traffic was diverted away from the area for approximately two hours following the collision. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
