Tue, 2005-12-27

Around 3:20 this morning, Police on Middle Road in Southampton (near Port Royal) observed a green car traveling east at a high speed. Another Police unit pursued the vehicle with its emergency lights and siren activated, but the car refused to stop. During the pursuit the offending vehicle drove with its lights off and reached speeds of 100 km/h. The car finally came to a stop at a Scenic Heights, Southampton residence where the driver and passenger exited the vehicle and made good their escape. The car was subsequently seized and taken to the Police impound yard. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service is reminding motocross riders that it is against the law to ride on the Pembroke dump. It is dangerous and not a suitable location for motocross riding. We are especially urging parents of juvenile motocross riders to do their part to discourage motocross riding in the area.
