Sudden Death

At 4:10 this morning, Police attended a reported sudden death at a Governors Alley, St. George's residence. The victim, a 54 year old St. George's man, was found inside the home by a family member around 3:30am in an unresponsive state. He was pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 6:05am. No further information will be released until the next of kin is notified.

Arrest

Around 5 this morning, Police arrested a 44 year old Devonshire man who is suspected of committing a number of offences within the past 24 hours. At 11:30pm on Thursday, Police pursued a car reported stolen earlier that day, which the suspect was believed to be driving. The vehicle was able to elude officers for short while, but was located around midnight Friday at a Billy Goat Hill, Warwick residence. The car was recovered however the suspect ran into some nearby bushes and managed to elude Police again, despite an extensive search of the area. The Devonshire man was eventually apprehended at a Dunscombe Road, Warwick property after a struggle in which three officers were injured. Two of the officers sustained relatively minor injuries (cuts & abrasions); however, one officer was treated at KEMH for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
