Robbery

At 2:15pm on Friday, Police attended a reported robbery on Border Lane North in Devonshire near the junction with Orchard Grove. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 66 year old Warwick man, who stated that he was walking in the area when an unknown man approached him from behind and placed him in a headlock, dragging him to the ground. The suspect then punched the 66 year old man about the head and body, before removing the victim's black leather wallet containing $140 in cash and personal items. The suspect then made good his escape on a silver coloured motorcycle. The victim was taken to KEMH for treatment of cuts and abrasions to his face and knees and later released. The suspect is described as a dark brown skinned male, approximately 5'5" tall of stocky build, wearing a black windbreaker, black jeans and a large gold chain. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

At 4:20 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of North Shore Road and Stepney Lane in Pembroke. It appears that the car, a white Toyota Yaris, was traveling west on North Shore Road when the driver lost control, colliding with a wall. The car apparently flipped and spun before coming to a rest in the eastbound lane. As a result, the vehicle was extensively damaged. The driver of the car, a 19 year old Pembroke man, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He was also taken to KEMH for treatment of an unknown head injury. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
