Handbag Snatch

Around 10:30pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch on Middle Road in Southampton, near the junction with Munro Lane. The victims, a 31 year old Sandy's parish man and a 28 year old Sandy's parish woman, stated that they were riding west on Middle Road when two men on a motorcycle rode alongside them. One of the men then grabbed a shopping bag from the victims' cycle basket. Despite the victims giving chase, the suspects made good their escape. Police subsequently searched the area and located the shopping bag, with all its contents intact. Two suspects, a 19 year old Southampton man and a 16 year old Pembroke boy were arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway. The Bermuda Police Service would also like to thank the taxi driver who witnessed the incident for his assistance.

Breaking & Entering

Around 7:40 this morning, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at St. George's Prep School on Church Folly Road in St. George's. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 4pm on Thursday and 7am today, an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole $670 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
