As a result, the St. George's man was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of facial and possible internal injuries. He is currently in critical but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. High Speed Chase

At 1:05am on Saturday, Police were on mobile patrol in the City of Hamilton traveling east on Church Street when they observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed as it entered Church Street from Queen Street. The rider of the motorcycle disobeyed several red traffic lights and was signaled to stop by Police, but continued on. Officers pursued the motorcycle through the city until the rider lost control and collided with a Police car at the junction of Victoria Street and King Street. As officers got out of the vehicle to check on the rider, he got up from the ground and rode off on the motorcycle. The pursuit continued, with the rider mounting the sidewalk at one point to avoid capture. The Police Support Unit and other Police units were also involved. As the chase continued east on North Shore Road, a Police officer on a Police motorcycle pulled alongside the rider and told him to stop; however the rider, without warning, swerved into the Police motorcycle causing the officer to lose control and fall to the ground. Despite this, the rider did not stop. The pursuit finally came to an end when the rider collided with another Police vehicle at Barkers Hill round-a-bout in Devonshire, lost control and struck a wooden guard rail. The rider, a 17 year old Devonshire boy, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and taken to KEMH via ambulance where he was treated for abrasions to his left knee and released. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
