Robbery

Around 7:30pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a robbery on Cedar Avenue in Pembroke. The victim, a 17 year old Hamilton parish boy, stated that he was walking on Cedar Avenue around 7:15pm when an unknown man approached him from behind and threw him to the ground. The man demanded money; however, when the 17 year old told him he had none the suspect kicked him in his right side and removed a black leather wallet containing $30 in cash and personal items from the victim's right pants pocket. The suspect then made good his escape on a red motorcycle. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'2" tall of medium build, wearing a black helmet with a full face tinted visor, a black jacket with tan or brown fur around the collar and jeans. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Assault on Police

Around 10:20am on Saturday, a female Police officer was standing at the junction of Middle Road and Parsons Lane in Devonshire, stopping traffic to allow participants in the Bermuda International Race Weekend 10K Run & Walk to pass. At this time a motorcycle traveling north on Parsons Lane struck the officer, knocking her to the ground despite being told to stop. The rider of the motorcycle then fled the scene. The suspect, a 29 year old Pembroke woman, was later arrested on Hermitage Road in Devonshire. She was not injured; however her passenger, a young boy, sustained a minor abrasion to his knee. The officer sustained cuts and abrasions to her face, body and hands. She was treated at KEMH and later released. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 2 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 9 incidents of breaking and entering. There were also 17 damage only road traffic collisions and 9 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
