At 7:10am on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Front Street in the City of Hamilton outside Number 1 Shed, involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling west on Front Street when it overtook a truck stopped at the traffic lights, which were red. The pedestrian was crossing the road on the pedestrian crossing and was struck by the motorcycle, which attempted to stop but slid on the wet road. The rider of the motorcycle, a 54 year old Warwick man, was not injured; however, the pedestrian a 51 year old Pembroke woman, sustained a large bump to the back of her head. She was taken to KEMH for treatment of her injury, which is not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC

Around 4am on Saturday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton, near the junction with Court Street. On arrival it appeared that a car had reversed into the car behind it. At the time, the individuals involved were in a heated discussion about the collision, and other people in the area began to join in. As a result, additional Police units arrived on scene to keep the peace until the parties involved left the area.
